As noted in the offering from the 1931 PC Back Exhibit Entertainment lot, the artwork from the Exhibit set was used to make a variety of strip and W cards. Whether the same company made the cards is unknown. What is definite is that there are at least four different strip card issues that utilize the same artwork, similar to the way the 1925-31 PC Back Exhibit baseball artwork was used for W517 and W517 mini cards. The cards in this lot are from the small format issue. Two forms of these cards exist, those issued in vertical strips of 10 cards and those issued singly with coupon-like ‘tabs’ at either end. The tab cards were likely prize tickets at arcades with coupons that could be cut off and redeemed for prizes. Complete tab cards are rare. The tabless and strip formats are difficult to differentiate but the strip cards are a bit wider than the tab cards, and some sloppily cut tab cards are found with some of the tabs intact. As was the case with the Exhibit cards, the issue comes in a variety of colors. More subjects are known in the strip card issues than in the Exhibit issue, as is the case with the W517s. The lot offered here contains 53 cards, with no exact duplicates. Cards of the same subject are pose variations or color variations. All cards have tap removed, most are crease free and present very well.Stars included are:
