1888 A36 Goodwin Champions Album featuring images of the colorful N162 Old Judge & Gypsy Queen series. Cover depicts a beautiful baseball scene plus equipment from the other sports featured. The eight Baseball players include Anson, Kelly, Keefe, Brouthers, Glasscock, Caruthers, Dunlap, and Andrews. Album also features an additional forty-two stars of the sports world. The N162 Old Judge & Gypsy Queen tobacco cards featured in this album are universally regarded as among the most beautiful and desirable of all pre-1900 tobacco issues. The album could only be acquired by mail in exchange for coupons packed with Old Judge & Gypsy Queen brand tobacco. The cards were issued in packs of cigarettes. This album is very presentable and does show some wear. Scans do a nice job of showing the condition. Front and back cover have a few creases and slightly dirty but do none of it affects the images. The images on the inside have there original brilliant color. The Brouthers, Caruthers, and Kilrain have some paper loss on there images plus there is a few scuff marks. The back cover is detached from the binding and is loose. Here is a chance to own a great companion piece to one of the most beautiful sets ever produced.
